We drove out to Pittsfield, of all places, to get the flashing for the roof. This begs the question, why go all the way out there? The answer is because I needed flashing to match our roof for maximum aesthetic effect, and that was the only place I could find that would cut it to the size I wanted. Apparently these guys (Pittsfield Standing Seam) are famous in contractor’s circles for doing metal roof stuff. Surprisingly, the drive wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. We had to go to Killington, and it’s good to know that it’s a manageable drive once ski season starts. I even borrowed KJ’s ladder and set up the roof to install the flashing, so things are already moving along, though I had to stop to make dinner, and then get ready for karate, which kind of made me crabby and whine about having no time.
Then again, what else is new? I toyed with the idea of painting while I was up there, but figure I should take it one step at a time. That flashing really needs to be done ASAP.
Until the next time, thanks for reading, and thanks to Thibaut Monot for the pic.

Right, one step at a time works best. First the roofing, and then the painting out there. The flashing would soon be done, and you'll all have the time to do other things.
